About PDF Editor
Most free PDF tools only convert a document from one format to another. Konvity’s PDF Editor lets you change the document itself: add notes, cover up a mistake, draw a diagram over a page, or drop in your signature or a logo, all inside your browser, with nothing ever uploaded to a server.
The toolbar covers the same ground as the editing tools you would expect from a desktop PDF application. Text places a new text box anywhere on the page. Pencil draws freehand in any color and stroke width, useful for signatures or quick handwritten notes. Whiteout covers unwanted content with a solid white box, while Highlight lays a semi-transparent color over text you want to call attention to instead of hiding it. Line, Dashed Line, and Arrow handle straight annotations and pointers, and Rectangle, Ellipse, and Polygon add filled or outlined shapes, including custom multi-sided shapes you build point by point. The Image tool places any picture from your device onto the page. Every object you place can be dragged to reposition it, resized using its corner handles, and rotated, exactly like the desktop editors this toolbar is modeled on.
Every added object stays fully editable for as long as you are working on the document. Switch to the Select tool, click any text box, shape, or image you placed, and adjust it again: reposition it, resize it, or change its rotation. Switch to a different page in the Pages panel and back, and every object you placed earlier is still there, selectable and adjustable, not flattened into the page, for as long as you stay on this tab.
A dedicated Pages panel shows a thumbnail of every page so you can jump straight to the one you want to work on, and an Options panel exposes color, stroke width, opacity, and font size for whichever tool is active. Undo and Redo track your entire editing session across every page, not just the page you happen to be viewing, and a fullscreen mode expands the editor to fill your whole browser window for more precise work. When you are done, Download saves a new PDF built from your original file: every page you did not touch keeps its original, fully selectable text and sharp vector graphics, with your edits added only to the pages where you actually made them.

What editing tools are available?

Can I edit the text that already exists in my PDF?
Not directly. A PDF page does not store paragraphs the way a word processor does; it stores individual drawn characters with no memory of a font file to re-use, so true in-place text editing is not realistically possible for arbitrary PDFs in a browser. What you can do instead is cover the line with a Whiteout box and place a new Text box over it with the corrected wording, which works well for most everyday fixes like a typo or an outdated date.
Does covering content with Whiteout actually remove it from the PDF?
No, and this matters if you are covering something sensitive. Whiteout draws a new opaque white shape on top of the existing content. Whatever is underneath is still part of the PDF's underlying data and can still be selected, copied, or extracted with other tools, even though it is no longer visible. For hiding an outdated note or a stray mark from view, this is exactly what you want. For securely redacting sensitive information such as an account number, this tool is not the right choice: use a dedicated redaction tool that actually deletes the underlying content instead of covering it.
Does the tool add a watermark, logo, or footer to my PDF?
No. This tool edits your own document in place. Nothing is added beyond what you explicitly draw or type, and pages you never touch are exported completely unmodified.
Is my original PDF quality preserved on pages I don't edit?
Yes. The export starts from your original PDF file and only adds new drawing instructions to the pages you actually edited. Untouched pages keep their original vector graphics and real, selectable text exactly as they were; nothing is rasterized into an image.
Can I edit a password-protected PDF?
Not currently. Password-protected or encrypted PDFs cannot be opened by the tool and will show an error when you try to upload one. Remove the password first, using the software that created the file, and then edit it here.
Can I undo a mistake?
Yes. Undo and Redo track every change you make across every page, in the order you made them, so you can step backward and forward through your whole editing session, not just the current page. The Delete button removes whatever is currently selected, and Reset clears every edit on every page and starts over.
Is there a fullscreen mode?
Yes. The fullscreen button expands the editor to fill your entire browser window, which is especially useful for detailed drawing or working with small text on a laptop screen. Click the same button, now showing an exit icon, to return to the normal page layout.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. Every part of the process, opening the file, editing, and generating the final download, happens locally in your browser using JavaScript. Your document is never uploaded to Konvity or any third party.
